Gall Talk

Sharing recipes, war stories, and advice about gallbladder surgery

About

Gallbladder surgery happens to those of us who never expected it. You probably never heard of it, until it started giving you trouble. There is a lot of misinformation about your life after your gallbladder has been permanently outed. Namely, your doctors lied when they said you can eat all the cheeseburgers in the world.

This site is my story. It is not intended to diagnose or treat any disease, nor is it the opinion of a medical professional. It’s just about the experience of one girl who had emergency surgery and found her life changed forever.  It’s about finding the best in an unprecedented situation, and learning how to cook tomato sauce 15 different ways. It’s about being secretly Italian (and you thought that doesn’t mix with low-fat).

Mostly, it’s intended to share information that I think should be out there. I kept hearing of people having this surgery, and no one told them them they can forget about Burger King, strawberry ice cream, and their grandma’s mac ‘n cheese. I am here to bring you truth and hope. A) You can’t eat that, but B) you can have a whole slew of other wonderful things I’m going to share, like my famous two-day lasagna and angel food cake. It’s going to be great.
